UEBT is a non-profit association that promotes sourcing with respect. We work to regenerate nature and secure a better future for all people through ethical sourcing of ingredients from biodiversity. UEBT aims to contribute to a world in which all people and biodiversity thrive, by setting good practices for how companies and their suppliers source specialty ingredients for the food, cosmetics and natural pharmaceutical sectors. UEBT is internationally recognised for its work advancing business contributions to sustainable development goals.

UEBT Membership Coordinator

In the context of the UEBT strategic plan, the successful candidate will take the lead on the day-to-day implementation of UEBT membership processes. Together with committed and enthusiastic colleagues, he/she will also support the further development and streamlining of membership-related tools and processes.

 

The successful candidate has a proven track-record in project management, as well as experience with working with company management systems and supply chains. Ideally, the successful candidate has first-hand knowledge of the specialty ingredients sector, preferably through company related experience in sustainability and ethical sourcing topics.

 

The successful candidate is inspired to work on practical solutions to support companies committed to sourcing with respect for all people and biodiversity along their UEBT membership journey - from their application, membership assessment and initial workplans to broader engagement and follow up. He/she is constructive, committed to excellence and service oriented. He/she is able to function effectively in a small matrix organization with limited resources, working on a variety of tasks and handling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The position involves working closely together with colleagues in Europe and other regions around the world and reports to the Executive Director.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UEBT membership program on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensure UEBT membership checklists, protocols, training materials, and technical guidance are clear, effective, consistent, and up to date
  • Provide technical inputs for the further improvement of the UEBT membership processes and tools.
  • Conduct UEBT membership assessments
  • Coordinate, support and ensure quality control of membership assessments
  • Provide guidance and coordinate training to companies that wish to become members
  • Liaise with other UEBT teams, including certification and verification teams, to address membership-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability management, supply chain  management, or corporate social responsibility.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the area of corporate sustainability, sourcing or consultancy is required.
  • Working experience with specialty ingredients for food, beauty and personal care and pharma is preferred
  • International working experience is preferred.
  • Ability to translate innovative concepts into practice, coordinate tasks with various professionals all over the world, and execute day-to-day hands-on tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems in a proactive and practical way, while respecting decision-making processes in multi-stakeholder structures
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English is a precondition for this position. Knowledge of additional languages such French, German, Portuguese or Spanish would be an asset.

    Employment is based upon 40 or 32 hours a week. UEBT has strong preference that the membership coordinator operates from the UEBT Amsterdam offices. A valid working permit for EU is required.

    The initial contract will be a one-year contract, to be renewed in case successful performance.
