DACH ACCOUNT MANAGER (Home-Office Based)

The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization at the intersection of business, agriculture, and forests with the mission to make sustainable land use and responsible business practice the new norm. In 2018 the Rainforest Alliance merged with UTZ, a global program and label for sustainable farming, leading to an impactful organization with 450 staff in now more than 14 countries and actively working with local communities in over 70 countries. We bring together diverse stakeholders to address some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges of today.

The Rainforest Alliance has an exciting position for a key account management in the dynamic DACH market, with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing sales growth and sustainable impact. 

Position summary

Your principal aim is to continuously facilitate and enhance the demand for Rainforest Alliance certified commodities by serving accounts. You will proactively develop and execute (sales) plans for relevant accounts in the DACH region. You will both be in charge of the retention and development of existing key accounts, as well as have exiting opportunities to acquire new ones in the core market. You see business opportunities for these accounts, from food brand owners to traders and retailers. You are client-focused and proactively identify account needs during the full-cycle process and develop the relationship into mutual continuous commercial success. Herein you gather and provide relevant market information and assist accounts in their implementation of the Rainforest Alliance programs and services. You also have the opportunity to work on market and advocacy activities as part of the business development plan, such as designing and implementing campaigns and events. You are an organized self-starter with a passion for sustainability and you can also work cooperatively with clients and the Rainforest Alliance departments. This position provides the potential to contribute to sustainable development and commercial success in the important DACH market.

Responsibilities

  • Development, management and execution of sales plans for key accounts in DACH region
  • Supporting key accounts in implementing the Rainforest Alliance programs and services
  • Ensuring ongoing client satisfaction and providing relevant market information
  • Cooperate with other departments on account development and implementation
  • Develop information and initiatives relevant to markets together with field representatives
  • Implement market, advocacy and business development activities (i.e. campaigns and events)

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working with commercial B2B accounts and relevant stakeholders in the food industry and the DACH markets, especially Germany
  • Living at least 5 years in the DACH market, especially Germany
  • Proven commercial success and understanding of sales as a full-cycle process
  • Results-driven, team player and affinity with sustainability
  • Ability to integrate in a global organization and communicate with colleagues from home office
  • Degree in business, supply chain management, or related
  • (Near-)native in German and fluency in (business) English

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
