The Role: Climate Expert
As part of Gilde Healthcare’s growing ESG & Impact team, you will play a key role in driving our climate-related initiatives. You will help us set relevant targets, assess the carbon footprint of relevant portfolio companies, and deliver robust, credible climate strategies. A critical part of your work will involve contributing to the due diligence process, helping to ensure alignment with SFDR Article 9 requirements and broader regulatory expectations.
You will report to the Head of Responsible Investment and collaborate closely with the investment teams, portfolio companies, Climate Advisory Board and external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and coordinate delivery of climate impact analyses, including carbon footprinting (Scope 1, 2, 3) and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), in line with Fund-level climate strategy and reporting
- Support companies with realization of sustainability potential, through science-based target setting (SBTi), net zero roadmap development and implementation
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments (e.g. CSRD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy) as they relate to climate and environmental disclosures
- Help define and track KPIs to measure climate performance and decarbonization progress
- Integrate climate risk and opportunity assessments in investment processes (aligned with TCFD)
- Collaborate with investment professionals and relevant partners on environmental matters
Your Profile
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience in climate/ESG consulting, sustainability roles, or environmental impact assessment, ideally with private equity or corporate clients
- Strong knowledge of carbon accounting frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, PCAF), LCA methodologies, and emissions reduction target-setting
- Experience with climate disclosure frameworks and regulation (e.g. CSRD, SBTi, TCFD)
- Solid analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive, self-starting attitude—comfortable working independently and taking ownership in a small, hands-on team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with investment teams and external stakeholders
- Passion for impact, climate innovation, and purpose-driven investing
- Fluent in Dutch & English (German is a plus, but not required)
What We Offer
